David Moyes wants to make Brighton defender Lewis Dunk one of his first signings as West Ham manager, claims The Daily Mirror.
The Hammers have conceded more goals (23) than any other Premier League team so far this season and Moyes wants to sign a new defender in January to help improve things at the back.
Dunk, who only signed a new five-year deal in August, has made an impressive start to his first taste of Premier League football after thriving in the Championship last season.
There have been calls for an England call-up for the 25-year-old and now West Ham are plotting a January bid for the centre-back, although Brighton will command a huge fee.
After finishing last season as one of the highest rated players in the Championship (7.59), no Premier League player has blocked more shots than the Brighton defender this term (19).
