Aston Villa to prioritise Middlesbrough youngster this month

The 21-year-old has excelled for Boro this season, playing a key role in their progression to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Rogers has been directly involved in more goals (6) than any other player in the domestic competition this season, scoring four times.

Rogers only joined Boro from Manchester City permanently in the summer but his development in a short period of time has caught the eye.

Villa boss Unai Emery has wanted Rogers since the Villans took on Boro in the FA Cup earlier this month.

The Premier League side can't afford to splash the cash this month due to Profit and Sustainability regulations but they're hoping they can strike a deal with Boro for Rogers.

Rogers was banned for Boro's first leg Carabao Cup meeting with Chelsea, which they won 1-0, but should return for the second leg at Stamford Bridge next week.
