Real Madrid target offers hope to Manchester United over summer move

Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek has given Manchester United hope over a possible summer move with the Dutchman admitting there is no agreement in place that would see him transfer to Real Madrid.

Van de Beek was a man in demand last summer, but Ajax fought off interest from some of Europe's elite sides to keep the 22-year-old in Amsterdam.

However, the youngster is expected to leave the Eredivisie champions this summer, and it had been reported that a deal was already in place that would see Van de Beek move to Real Madrid.

United retain an interest in the Ajax star and they will be boosted by Van de Beek's recent admittence that there is no agreement in place between himself and Real Madrid.

"My feeling must be good at a club. How much do they want me?" Van de Beek told Helden via The Metro.

"But I also have to fit in with the system that is being played and of course I also want to have an overview of playing minutes. Playing in the sun is always nice. But no, I certainly haven’t started taking Spanish lessons yet.

"I have not said yes to anyone, everything is still open. I know what I’ve got here, I am loved in Ajax and I love Ajax."

Van de Beek has scored eight goals and provided five assists in the Eredivisie this season to help return a WhoScored rating of 7.41.
