Arsenal are planning a surprise raid of Premier League rivals West Brom for defender Jonny Evans, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The Gunners are in the market for a new defender following injury to Per Mertesacker, who will miss the next four months after sustaining a knee injury in pre-season.
Manager Arsene Wenger has since targeted Evans, 28, as a potential target, with the Frenchman lining up a £15m for the Northern Irishman.
Evans enjoyed an impressive debut season at the Hawthorns following his £8m switch from Manchester United last summer and was a key man for Northern Ireland at Euro 2016.
The versatile defender made 30 starts for the Baggies last term, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.20 in the Premier League.
