Real Madrid prepare raid for Tottenham ace

Real Madrid are one of a number of European heavyweights considering a move for Tottenham star Kieran Trippier, reports the Sun.

Tripper was one of England’s star players at the World Cup and his fine performances for the Three Lions haven’t gone unnoticed.

Indeed, Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old, as have a number of top teams across the continent, even after Los Blancos secured the services of Alvaro Odriozola from Real Sociedad.

The 27-year-old earned a WhoScored rating of 7.96 at the World Cup, with that enough to feature in the team of the tournament.

Spurs secured Trippier’s services from Burnley for just £3.5m back in 2015 and after initially struggling for first team action in the capital, the right-back is now first choice under Mauricio Pochettino.

Trippier’s value is now believed to have increased to above £50m following his fine performances in Russia.

Spurs, though, would likely reject any formal offers for the defender, who only penned a five-year deal last summer and created more goalscoring chances (24) than any other player at the World Cup.
