No contact with Arsenal, says agent of Barcelona midfielder

The agent of Arda Turan has denied suggestions the Barcelona midfielder is on the verge of securing a move to Arsenal and insists he is happy at the Camp Nou.

Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting Arsenal were preparing a €25m (£21.6m) move for Turan in a bid to ease the expected departures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Arsene Wenger’s side have previously been linked with the Barcelona fringe player but nothing has come off speculation, while Turan’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, has moved to refute this latest transfer gossip.

“There is currently no offer, there is nothing to speak of right now,” he told ESPN. “I have not been contacted by Arsenal. As I said before, he is happy at Barcelona and has three years left on his contract.”

Turan has struggled to establish himself as a first team regular since joining Barcelona from Atletico Madrid in 2015 in a deal worth £26m. However, despite struggling for game time Turan has proven relatively prolific in front of goal this season.

In fact, no player has required fewer minutes per goal in the Champions League this season than Turan (1 every 43 minutes), who has netted four times in just 172 minutes of action in the competition.
