AC Milan sign Chelsea outcast on loan

Chelsea have confirmed Tiemoue Bakayoko has joined Serie A giants on an initial season-long loan deal.

The west London outfit only moved to Chelsea 12 months ago but the France international failed to live up to his £40m price tag.

Bakayoko had knee surgery prior to his arrival at Stamford Bridge and never really got going last season.

Chelsea signed Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic over the summer and Bakayoko has now been forced to find regular playing time elsewhere.

Milan have reportedly agreed a €5m (£4.5m) loan fee with an option to make the switch permanent for a further €35m (£31.2m).

Gennaro Gattuso’s side have already spent heavily this summer and Bakayoko is eighth new arrival at the club.

Despite failing to rediscover the form he showed at Monaco with Chelsea, the Premier League oufit had a better win ratio in the league last season when Bakayoko started (58.3%) compared to when he did not feature from the off (50%).
