Liverpool and Chelsea signings star in Nations League Team of the Round
The international break drew to a close on Wednesday night with round four of this season's UEFA Nations League campaign.
There were plenty of surprises, with Germany slipping to a 3-3 draw with Switzerland, Ukraine defeating Spain and England losing 1-0 at home to Denmark.
While Premier League duo Fabian Schar and Harry Maguire had week's to forget, there were plenty of others that flourished, including new signings from Chelsea and Liverpool.
Diogo Jota, a surprise £40m signing from Wolves to Liverpool, actually finished as the WhoScored Player of the Round from the midweek action.
Only in the Portugal line-up after Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for COVID-19, Jota certainly grabbed his opportunity with two well taken goals and an assist in their 3-0 win over Sweden.
Jota had six attempts in total and also completed four dribbles to beat Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to top spot in our player rankings. Like Jota, Lewandowski scored twice and provided one assist in Poland's 3-0 win over Bosnia.
Germany have remarkably only one won of eight UEFA Nations League matches over the two campaigns and a 3-3 draw with Switzerland was another blow for Joachim Low's side, but they did at least click in attack.
Kai Havertz has found life tough at Chelsea since completing a blockbuster move from Bayer Leverkusen over the summer but Frank Lampard would have taken pleasure from his display on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old played a direct hand in two of the three goals Germany scored to rally to a point against Switzerland, with fellow Chelsea team-mate Timo Werner also in on the act, though just missing out on a place in our best rated XI.
New Manchester City signing Ruben Dias (7.89) also narrowly missed out on making the XI, with his Portugal team-mate Pepe (7.93) beating him to the punch.
