GOALKEEPERS
Lukasz Fabianski – 20.00 Points Earned
Despite having little possession at Wembley, Swansea came away with a 0-0 draw from their trip to London as they held Tottenham. Lukasz Fabianski was again another solid performer between the sticks as he saved all eight of Spurs’ shots on target to earn the WhoScored.com man of the match award with a rating of 8.69 and 20.00 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football.
Fraser Forster – 14.50 Points Earned
Southampton may struggle to find the back of the net, but they’re more than capable of shutting opponents out as Crystal Palace found out on Saturday. Fraser Forster kept another clean sheet in Saturday’s early kick to earn 14.50 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points.
David De Gea – 14.50 Points Earned
Also earning 14.50 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points, David De Gea makes the top three goalkeepers list once again having shut out Everton in Manchester United’s 4-0 win over the Toffees on Sunday. The Spaniard was busier than usual for United as he made three saves in the victory.
DEFENDERS
Nicolas Otamendi – 16.90 Points Earned
Manchester City sauntered to a 6-0 win at Watford on Saturday to maintain their dominance over the Hornets. Argentine centre-back Nicolas Otamendi got his name on the scoresheet, while a clean sheet ensured he was the top scoring defender on Yahoo! this week with 16.90 points.
Antonio Valencia – 14.30 Points Earned
Antonio Valencia scored an absolute thunderbolt in Manchester United’s trouncing Everton to get the ball rolling at Old Trafford on Sunday and earned crucial Yahoo! Fantasy Football points with a clean sheet bonus too. Against goalshy Southampton on Saturday, he could be another defender worth investing in ahead of the weekend.
Jan Vertonghen – 14.00 Points Earned
While Spurs were unable to break down Swansea, Jan Vertonghen was again a solid performer in their three-man defence at Wembley. The Belgian attempted more passes (130) than any other player has managed in a Premier League match this season and his display not only earned the north London side a clean sheet, but saw the Belgian pick up 14.00 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football.
MIDFIELDERS
Xherdan Shaqiri – 21.85 Points Earned
While Stoke fell to a 2-1 loss at Newcastle United on Saturday, Xherdan Shaqiri gave the Potters their best chance of a positive result on Saturday with a second half strike at St. James’ Park. He created four chances in the loss and made one tackle to help earn 21.85 Yahoo! Fantasy Football points.
David Silva – 18.35 Points Earned
As Manchester City secured a 6-0 victory at Vicarage Road, David Silva was a creative force once more as the Spaniard notched another two assists to take his total for the season to four. With five key passes to his name, it’s no shock to see the 31-year-old podium in the top performing midfielders this week.
Son Heung-min – 16.85 Points Earned
Tottenham failed to hit the back of the net at Wembley courtesy of some inspired defender by Swansea, but Son Heung-min was arguably their best performing attacker and it’s reflected in that he earned 16.85 points. The South Korean fired off seven shots on goal, four of which were on target, made three key passes and completed two dribbles in the stalemate.
