Revealed: The big omission as two from Scotland make Combined XI with England

England take on Scotland at Wembley tonight as the fierce rivals lock horns once again. Football fans will remember the Three Lions' 2-0 win over the Tartan Army at Euro 96, where Paul Gascoigne scored that wonderful goal to wrap up the three points in London, along with the famous Dentist Chair celebration.

England fans would welcome the same result when the pair clash in their Euro 2020 Group D clash, where victory would see England secure a last-16 spot. Gareth Southgate's side remain one of the favourites to lift the trophy this summer and victory over Scotland would certainly ease any concerns of a slip up against the Czech Republic next week.

As was the case for France's meeting with Germany, we have compiled a combined XI between the two nations ahead of this Euro 2020 showdown.

For the purposes of this XI, we have elected to use league ratings from starts alone in 2020/21, while those injured or suspended are also overlooked, so Dean Henderson, who was forced to return to Manchester United this week owing to a hip issue, doesn't come into consideration.

The Edge of the Box crew took a look at the combined XI in the latest episode, which is dominated by England. That isn't to say it's a clean sweep this time around, with two Scotland players making the cut, both of whom ply their trade for Premier League clubs.
