Given the form that Spanish and European champions Real Madrid approach their trip to the Mestalla in, the odds on the home side seem very long indeed. The hosts have begun to stumble themselves of late after a superb start to the season but their home record is still very strong, losing just one of their ten matches in front of their fans in the league this season.

Given Zidane’s men are winless in four on the road in LaLiga and have won just two of their last seven meetings with Valencia - who have been in pretty desperate form for much of that time - this could be another nail in the Madrid manager’s coffin.

While Milan have won both of their league matches since the turn of the year, it’s fair to say that victories by a single goal over Crotone and Cagliari have inspired much confidence that 2018 will be a year of resurgence. Indeed, the meeting with an in-form Lazio side this weekend will be a far sterner test of Gennaro Gattuso’s credentials in the rossoneri dugout.

The visitors won the reverse fixture 4-1 back in September and their goalscoring prowess has been evident all season. With three goals or more in five of their last six league games, Lazio could put the hosts’ defence to the sword.

Marseille vs Monaco (28.01.18 / KO 20:00) - Match Preview

After first faced second in Ligue 1 last weekend, this time out it is the turn of third against fourth, with reigning champions Monaco keen to prove they are still PSG’s closest rivals despite the form of OM and OL this season. Leonardo Jardim’s side are on a seven-game unbeaten streak in the league right now but that will be put under threat by a Marseille side with four wins on the bounce, and five when just taking home games into account.

Both sides have been frescoing this season, averaging over two goals per game, but Monaco have been far less prolific on the road. It’s rare that the visitors don’t find a way through but on current form the hosts may just have the edge in a game with plenty of chances at either end.
