Superb Salah the star man in Premier League team of the week

Mohamed Salah was exceptional in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday, having a direct hand in both goals for the Reds, and is a worthy winner of the player of the week award. Chelsea, Tottenham and Wolves are also represented in a Premier League team of a  week dominated by Norwich on the back of their 0-0 draw at Burnley.

Starting from the back, we run through the best XI from gameweek seven...

Tim Krul (Norwich) - 7.52

It's been a wretched season so far for Norwich, but they can at least head into the international break on a positive note as they held Burnley to a 0-0 draw on Saturday. Tim Krul held firm between the Canaries sticks as he returned a WhoScored rating of 7.52. The Dutchman made five saves in the Turf Moor stalemate to feature in the XI.

Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea) - 8.16

The first of two Chelsea players to make the XI, Cesar Azpilicueta put in another assured performance at the weekend as the Blues earned a 3-1 win over Southampton. Azpilicueta provided the assist for Timo Werner's goal five minutes before the end, that coming from one of two key passes, while the 32-year-old was defensively sound as he made two tackles and one interception to help land a WhoScored rating of 8.16.

Grant Hanley (Norwich) - 8.41

Featuring at the heart of the defence is Norwich star Grant Hanley, who put in a man of the match shift at Turf Moor. The Scot made five interceptions in the 0-0 draw - only one player has made more in a Premier League match this season - while the 29-year-old did everything in his power to ensure a first positive result of 2021/22 as he made 15 clearances to contribute towards his inclusion with a WhoScored rating of 8.41.

Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea) - 8.16

Joining Hanley at the back is Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah. The youngster has repaid the faith shown in him by Thomas Tuchel this season as he put in a man of the match showing against Southampton, returning a WhoScored rating of 8.16 in the process. Chalobah scored his second league goal of the campaign against Saints, and made five tackles and four clearances to secure his place in the side.

Sergio Reguilon (Tottenham) - 7.62

Rounding off the defence is the first of two Tottenham players in the best XI. Sergio Reguilon was solid from left-back in their 2-1 win over Aston Villa, making five clearances, four tackles and three interceptions to help Spurs end their dire Premier League run and make the team of the week with a WhoScored rating of 7.62.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 9.19

With a WhoScored rating of 9.19, Mohamed Salah is the Premier League player of the week. The Egyptian star provided the assist for Sadio Mane's opener on the hour mark, that coming from one of two key passes in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Manchester City. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Tottenham) - 8.42

The second Tottenham player in the team of the week is midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Mathias Normann (Norwich) - 8.04

Partnering Hojbjerg in the middle of the park is the final Norwich representative in Mathias Normann. The 25-year-old was superb out of possession for the Canaries as he made seven clearances and two tackles to keep the Burnley attack at bay on Saturday. Normann was also unfortunate not to add an assist as he managed two key passes to return a WhoScored rating of 8.04.

Hwang Hee-Chan (Wolves) - 8.62

The first Wolves player in the team of the week is goal machine Hwang Hee-Chan.
