Form Guide

Wolves looked to have turned a corner last month, but a three-game winless run saw them drop back into the bottom half of the table. Four wins in 15 league outings, those coming across a four-game spell in February, has seen Wolves struggle to match their standards from last season and while a European finish isn't completely out of the question, they need to up their form, starting tonight.

Liverpool will be thankful for games away from Anfield at the moment. The Reds haven't won on home turf since a 2-1 win over Tottenham in mid-December and a six-game losing streak on Merseyside is the second longest since the start of the 2016/17 campaign. Away from Anfield, they have won four of their last five in all competitions, with a 3-1 loss at Leicester the only mark on the record book.

Team News

Save the long-term absence of Raul Jimenez, Nuno Espirito Santo has a nigh-on fully fit squad to select from. Granted the Wolves boss is sweating on the fitness of Marcal and Daniel Podence, though a return to action for the pair after the international break is more likely. Willian Jose is still looking for his first goal since joining from Real Sociedad and may drop to the bench, with Adama Traore partnering Pedro Neto in attack.

Fortunately for Liverpool, they have no fresh injury concerns to deal with. Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson and Joe Gomez miss out, but better news for Jurgen Klopp is that Fabinho returned to the midfield in the 2-0 win over RB Leipzig last week and with Nathaniel Phillips and Ozan Kabak impressing in the Champions League, the Brazilian should continue in the middle of the park. Roberto Firmino remains a doubt, which means Diogo Jota is set to lead the attack against his former employers.

Premier League Team News and Prediction: Wolves vs Liverpool

Pedro Neto has been far and away Wolves' best attacking player this season and while the absence of Raul Jimenez has hindered their offensive process, the Portuguese youngster has shouldered the burden well. Indeed, no Wolves player has scored more league goals than Neto (5) this season, while the 21-year-old has provided more assists (5) than any other player for Santo's side.

While Wolves looked to ease Jimenez's absence with the capture of Willian Jose, the hosts could have benefitted with a player of Diogo Jota's calibre in the squad. The 24-year-old may have scored just five times in the Premier League this season, yet a three-month spell on the sidelines hindered his form in the final third. From his 11 league and European starts, though, Jota has seven goals to his name and in the possible absence of Firmino, the former Wolves man will be keen to end the season with a flourish, starting at his former stomping ground tonight.
