Jesus leads Man City quartet in Premier League Team of the Week

Manchester City and Liverpool both earned huge wins over Watford and Everton at the weekend with the Premier League title race set to go down to the wire. The pair have five representatives between them in the team of the week, while players from Leeds, Wolves, Newcastle and Crystal Palace also make the cut.

Illan Meslier (Leeds) - 8.45

Illan Meslier put in his best rated performance of the season as Leeds held Crystal Palace to a 0-0 draw on Monday night. The Frenchman came away from the stalemate with a WhoScored rating of 8.45 as he frustrated the Palace attack, making seven saves to feature between the sticks in the Premier League team of the week.

Nelson Semedo (Wolves) - 7.60

He may have been on the losing side at Burnley, but Nelson Semedo nails down the right-back spot in the best XI with a WhoScored rating of 7.60. The 28-year-old put in a shift off the ball, making four tackles, two interceptions and two clearances, and supported the attack well as he chipped in with three dribbles and two key passes.

Joel Matip (Liverpool) - 7.86

The man of the match from Liverpool's 2-0 win over Everton on Sunday makes the cut in defence with Joel Matip solid at the back for the Reds at Anfield. Matip made six tackles and two clearances in the Merseyside Derby as he features at the back in the team of the week with a WhoScored rating of 7.86.

Dan Burn (Newcastle) - 7.83

Joining Matip at the heart of the defence is the first of three Newcastle players. Dan Burn put in a solid shift as the Magpies eased to a 3-0 win at Norwich on Saturday. The towering centre-back dealt with the Canaries' attacking threat with ease as he made six clearances, four interceptions and one tackle to secure his spot in the side with a WhoScored rating of 7.83.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (Manchester City) - 7.61

Rounding off the backline is the first of four Manchester City representatives. Oleksandr Zinchenko registered just his second league assist of the season in City's resounding 5-1 win over Watford on Saturday, turning provider for Gabriel Jesus' opener with his only key pass in the victory. An additional three tackles helped the Ukrainian left-back to a WhoScored rating of 7.61.

Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) - 10.0

With a perfect WhoScored 10 rating in Manchester City's 5-1 win over Watford, Gabriel Jesus is the Premier League player of the week. Jesus had a direct hand in all five goals in the resounding victory, netting four times from six shots and providing one assist from three key passes as City warmed up for their welcome of Real Madrid in style.
