Tottenham star soars to top of Premier League player form rankings

 

Following consecutive thumping wins there is a Tottenham star atop the player form rankings in the Premier League, while there are new representatives in the top ten from the likes of Everton, West Ham, Manchester United and Leicester too.

10) Ricardo Pereira (Leicester) - Weighted rating 7.60

Following his stunning match winning strike against champions Manchester City, Pereira climbs four places onto the leaderboard following some strong performances over his last six outings. The Portuguese also breaks into the top 20 overall this season and has proven to be an excellent addition for the Foxes.

9) Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) - Weighted rating 7.61

Up three places to ninth following the Boxing Day win over Huddersfield, Rashford is arguably in the consistent form of his United career. The forward may not have scored last time out but led the line well and is impressing in that role, with two goals and four assists in his last six league appearances.

8) Lucas Digne (Everton) - Weighted rating 7.65

With two stunning strikes in a crushing victory at Burnley, Everton left-back Digne continues to become a fan favourite following his summer switch from Barcelona. The Frenchman is the highest riser into the top ten this time around, jumping 22 places, and is now on the cusp of the top ten performers of the season so far.

7) Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) - Weighted rating 7.72

Down three places this week owing to the magnificence of others in the last round of fixtures rather than a poor performance of his own, Van Dijk remains Mr. Consistent for Liverpool, sitting seventh in the form rankings and eighth overall. The Dutchman led the Reds to successive clean sheets in a 4-0 win over Newcastle last time out.

6) Robert Snodgrass (West Ham) - Weighted rating 7.80

Down four places this week, Snodgrass is still proving to be a crucial player to West Ham’s impressive run of form. The Scotland international’s versatility has been key to the club picking up five wins from their last six league encounters with so many players out injured.

5) Felipe Anderson (West Ham) - Weighted rating 7.85

Leapfrogging his clubmate in the rankings, Anderson was the star of the show in victory over Southampton, scoring his seventh and eighth league goals of the season to earn all three points. The Brazilian has been an instant hit since arriving for a club record fee in the summer and has proved to be worth every penny.

4) Harry Kane (Tottenham) - Weighted rating 7.91

With a superbly taken volley in the demolition job of Bournemouth, Kane climbs one place to fourth having taken his league tally for the season to 12. The England international has now had a direct hand in at least one goal in each of his last six Premier League starts.

3) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - Weighted rating 8.10

Displaced from top spot this time around despite a goal and assist in victory over Newcastle ensuring that his weighted rating over the last six matches increased, Salah’s return to the form of last season continues. The Egyptian has five goals and three assists in his last six league outings for the Reds.

2) Eden Hazard (Chelsea) - Weighted rating 8.15

Above Salah this time around, Hazard’s match-winning brace against Watford was not quite enough to claim top spot. The Belgian has now had a direct hand in each of Chelsea’s last nine goals in all competitions, with three goals and five assists in his last six appearances in the Premier League.

1) Son Heung-Min (Tottenham) - Weighted rating 8.26

Rocketing straight in at number one having now qualified for consideration - starting six of Tottenham’s last eight matches - Son bagged back-to-back league doubles with a brace against Bournemouth. The South Korean star has six goals and two assists in his last five league outings and, as a consequence, is the most in form Premier League player right now.

Only ratings taken from each player’s last six league matches are considered, weighted chronologically, with the most recent match highest and so on. To qualify each player must have featured in their side’s last league game and started at least six of the last eight available.
