Championship Games on TV: What time is the football on today?

Championship football returns tonight as they 2024/25 campaign gets underway. It seems like only yesterday Leeds played Southampton at Wembley in the playoff final as teams look to secure a place in next season's Premier League.

Blackburn host Derby at Ewood Park, while Sheffield United make the trip to Preston as the four teams kick off the season. Every single first round Championship game is available on Sky Sports this weekend as the EFL takes centre stage to kick off 2024/25.

Rovers boasted the second worst home record in the Championship last season so will have their work cut out as they look to get their campaign off to a winning start. Promoted Derby will be no pushovers but we're backing Blackburn to claim a narrow win on home turf.

Sheffield United, meanwhile, are aiming to make an immediate return to the Premier League following a disastrous 2023/24 season that saw them finish bottom of England's top tier and concede a record 104 goals. They are overwhelming favourites to get their season off to a winning start at Preston.
