GOALKEEPERS
Fraser Forster – 17 points earned
He may have missed out on a place in the most recent England squad, but Fraser Forster did his chances of a recall later in the year no harm with a strong showing against Huddersfield prior to the international break. Six saves to go with a clean sheet saw the towering shotstopper earn 17 points with Yahoo! last time out.
David de Gea – 16 points earned
Like Forster, David de Gea kept himself a clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Leicester as Manchester United maintained their blistering start to the season. The Spain international had little to do against a Foxes side unable to muster a clear-cut chance, but did enough to pick up 16 points.
Lukasz Fabianski – 14.50 points earned
Rounding off the top three performing goalkeepers is Swansea ace Lukasz Fabianski. He too helped himself to a clean sheet as the Swans overcame Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, with Fabianski’s two crosses claimed and three saves helping him gain 14.50 points in gameweek three.
DEFENDERS
Ciaran Clark – 15.25 points earned
Newcastle sauntered to a comfortable 3-0 win over West Ham to put their first points for the campaign on the board ahead of the international break, with defender Ciaran Clark on hand to gain 15.25 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football. The 27-year-old netted a second half header against the Hammers to put light between Newcastle and West Ham, with his showing helping Rafa Benitez’s side to a first clean sheet of the season.
Charlie Daniels – 13.35 points earned
A late Raheem Sterling goal denied Bournemouth their first ever Premier League point against Manchester City, despite taking the initiative with a brilliant Charlie Daniels strike. The left-back found the top corner with a stunning effort that left Ederson grasping at thin air. Three interceptions and one tackle helped earn a respectable 13.35 points last time out, while a possibility of him once again playing a more advanced role against Arsenal means he could be a tempting pick up this week...
Alberto Moreno – 11.70 points earned
It was a Sunday to forget for Arsenal fans, who saw their side fall to a 4-0 loss at Liverpool. Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno has started the season well and played an influential role in the victory over the Gunners, gaining a modest 11.70 points in the process.
MIDFIELDERS
Dele Alli – 19.75 points earned
Tottenham may have laboured to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Burnley before the international break, but it was Dele Alli who put the hosts ahead in the stalemate. The England international also made three key passes and two successful dribbles to end gameweek three as the highest scoring midfielder with 19.75 points to his name.
Cesc Fabregas – 17.20 points earned
London counterpart Cesc Fabregas is second to Alli from gameweek three, having picked up 17.20 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football. The Spaniard netted Chelsea’s opener in the 2-0 win over Everton, while his creative and attacking influence from midfield saw him pick up the WhoScored.com man of the match award.
Sadio Mane – 16.45 points earned
As Liverpool breezed past Arsenal, Sadio Mane was again on hand to score a Premier League goal against the Gunners. His splendid showing in the 4-0 win over Arsene Wenger’s side saw him pick up 16.45 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football.
FORWARDS
Mohamed Salah – 27.80 points earned
Leading the way for most points earned in gameweek three is Mohamed Salah, who gained 27.80 points, more than any player. The Egyptian netted a goal and grabbed himself an assist, with the former a vintage strike for the 25-year-old as he raced from one end of the pitch to the other to net past Petr Cech.
Alvaro Morata – 16.70 points earned
Alvaro Morata has adjusted to the rigours of Premier League football with ease and has two goals and two assists to his name in three appearances, incidentally, all of which have come with his head. His outing against Everton, where he scored and registered an assist, saw him earn 16.70 points with Yahoo! Fantasy Football.
Roberto Firmino – 16.50 points earned
Liverpool’s attack was in fine form against Arsenal and it’s no shock that Roberto Firmino makes the top performers list having bagged a goal and registered an assist in the 4-0 win. With two key passes and three dribbles, the former Hoffenheim star was excellent at Anfield last Sunday, earning 16.50 points in the process.
