Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is set to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge, despite only arriving at the club in the summer, reports the Daily Express.
The Italian has guided Chelsea to the Premier League’s summit coming into the final stretch of the season, though a 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace saw their lead at the top cut to seven points.
Nonetheless, Blues owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to hand Conte a new deal at the end of the season, with the former Juventus and Italy head coach also two wins away from FA Cup glory.
Conte’s deal at the moment runs until 2019, but a fresh contract would add an extra three years to his current stay in west London and bump up his pay packet to £7.5m per year.
Serie A giants Inter Milan are rumoured to be keen on bringing Conte back to Italy, yet the 47-year-old is settled in London and the Chelsea boss is expected to move his family to England over the summer.
Conte is expected to put pen to paper on a new contract once the Premier League title has been secured, with he seeking assurances that the likes of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois won’t be sold in the transfer window.
