West Brom register interest in Bournemouth defender

West Brom are interested in signing Bournemouth defender Steve Cook in the summer, according to The Daily Mail.

Cook has enjoyed a quietly impressive campaign for Bournemouth this season and his performances have even caught the attention of England manager Gareth Southgate ahead of matches against Germany and Lithuania later this month.

The 25-year-old has spent the last five years at Bournemouth after joining on a permanent deal from Brighton in 2012 following a year on loan with the Cherries and is now thought to be valued at £7m.

While Eddie Howe has struggled to name the same defence on weekly basis, Cook has been an ever present this season. He is one of only eight outfielders to have played in every single minute of Premier League action this season (2430), while Cook has also completed more headed clearances than any other player (172).
