Euro 2016 star refutes Madrid interest

Dimitri Payet’s agent insists the Euro 2016 star is happy to remain at West Ham next season amid interest from Real Madrid.

The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid after his dazzling performances at Euro 2016 for France and West Ham have already moved to put a £60m valuation over his head to ward off interest this summer.

However, West Ham’s fears have been slightly eased after Payet’s agent insisted the creative midfielder is not thinking about leaving the Hammers this summer.

“He has a great contract with West Ham so I cannot see him leaving,” Jacques-Olivier Auguste told The Guardian. “Dimitri is happy in London. You never know in football but only West Ham know what price they want if they decide to sell him.”

Only Kevin De Bruyne (22) has registered more key passes at Euro 2016 than Payet (19).
