Spurs bid for Toulouse frontman rejected

Tottenham have had a £6m bid for Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder rejected, according to France Football.

Mauricio Pochettino is looking to sign another striker this month in order to ease the goal scoring burden on the shoulders on Harry Kane.

Tottenham had been eyeing West Brom striker Saido Berahino, but have been looking for alternative options with the Baggies demanding too much money.

This has led Spurs to Ben Yedder, but they will need to increase their bid to nearly £8m to sign the former France Under-21 international, with Toulouse also keen to have the player loaned back to them until the end of the season.

Ben Yedder has already been offered to Lyon and Marseille this month, but neither can afford him, with the 25-year-old desperate to leave the Ligue 1 strugglers permanently this month.

The Toulouse frontman is currently their top goalscorer in the league this season (7), but six of those have come in his last six appearances for the club.
