Everton star will sign new deal, says agent

Romelu Lukaku will put an end to the ongoing uncertainty around his future and pen a new long-term contract with Everton, according to his agent Mino Raiola.

The 23-year-old has been regularly linked with a big money move away from Everton ever since joining the club from Chelsea on a permanent basis in 2014.

Lukaku’s existing deal is due to expire in 2019 but it was thought he would leave last summer, while new manager Ronald Koeman previously conceded the striker needs to leave Everton if he wants to make the next step in his career.

However, the Belgium international’s agent has now confirmed that the Everton No.10 is poised to agree terms to a new long-term deal with the Toffees, in what would be a huge boost to the club and their ambitions.

“There are no problems right now between the player and the club,” Raiola told talkSPORT. “Talks are ongoing. He will sign.”

Lukaku scored four goals in Everton’s 6-3 win over Bournemouth last weekend to become the top goalscorer in the Premier League this season and lead the race for the golden boot (16 goals).
