Liverpool are preparing an offer worth €21m (£19.3m) for Roma defender Emerson, reports Tuttomercatoweb, via Football Italia.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already experienced the difficulties of dealing with Roma this summer after breaking their club transfer record to sign Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool have already signed Andrew Robertson to bolster their options at left back, but Klopp wants to secure a deal for Emerson and leave the Brazilian on loan at Roma for another season.
The 23-year-old is currently recovering from a knee injury suffered in May and isn’t expected to make a full recovery until October.
Emerson, who joined the Giallorossi from Palermo in 2015, started 23 league games for Roma last season. In that time, only three players garnered a higher WhoScored rating in Serie A for the club than Emerson (7.37).
