Everton star on Manchester United’s radar

Manchester United are plotting a summer swoop for Everton youngster Ross Barkley, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The England international has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park at the end of the season, with his contract expiring in 2018.

Barkley has shown no indication that he is willing to put pen to paper on a new deal, which could force Everton into selling the youngster in the summer.

Tottenham have been strongly linked with a move for the 23-year-old and are thought to be close on agreeing personal terms with Barkley over a switch to White Hart Lane.

However, United now look to be ready to force their way into the race to secure Barkley’s services, with manager Jose Mourinho believed to be a big fan of the attacker.

Everton’s willingness to bring Wayne Rooney back to Goodison Park could also tempt Everton into doing business with United this summer.
