Chelsea to beat Arsenal and Manchester City in race for teenager

Chelsea are set to beat Arsenal and Manchester City in the race to sign highly rated teenage forward Jann-Fiete Arp, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Hamburg striker has impressed in the early stages of his professional career, scoring two goals in four Bundesliga appearances this season.

His good form hasn’t gone unnoticed either, with a host of Premier League sides showing an interest in the 17-year-old.

However, Chelsea are believed to be in pole position to sign Arp, who is tipped for a blockbuster move sooner rather than later.

The Blues had been heavily linked with a move for the German striker over the summer, but Arp opted to instead stay put and develop his career with Hamburg and the decision is reaping rewards.

Hamburg president Heribert Bruchhagen has previously ruled out a departure, stating: "He will stay with us. His advisor Jürgen Milewski has promised me and sporting director Jens Todt. He will develop with us.”

Arp is in line to start for Hamburg today when they welcome Hoffenheim to Volksparkstadion.
