Manchester United target poised for new deal

Everton are trying to secure Dominic Calvert-Lewin's long-term future amid interest from Manchester United, claims Sky Sports.

Calvert-Lewin has emerged as a surprise £50m transfer target for United in the last week after the Red Devils missed out on Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old is currently enjoying his best ever campaign in front of goal after initial reservations whether he was cut out to be first-choice striker at a Premier League club.

New Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has already lavished praise on the England Under-21 international and has revealed he tried to sign him during his time at Napoli.

Everton have already secured Richarlison's future following interest from United and now want to extend Calvert-Lewin's stay.

Calvert-Lewin's current deal is not due to expire until the summer of 2023 but Everton are keen to reward the youngster with new terms to reflect his growing importance.

The Everton No.9 has already scored more league goals this season (8) than he managed in 35 appearances (6) in the competition in 2018/19.
