The agent of Marco Verratti has revealed the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder will snub any interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in the summer and stay with the Ligue 1 giants.
Verratti is widely regarded as one of the central midfielders in Europe and has been long linked with a move away from PSG and to one of their continental rivals.
PSG are in danger of surrendering their grip on the Ligue 1 title for the first time since 2012 and having been dumped out of the Champions League in humiliating circumstances, Verratti’s long-term future at the club has been called into question once again.
However, Unai Emery’s side can rest assured that Verratti will continue to honour the long-term deal he signed at the start of the season.
“Marco Verratti will continue at PSG,” Di Campli told Italian new agency Nansa, via talkSPORT. “He has a contract until 2021. He will stay in France. There is no doubt because he is a respectful person with contracts.
“Afterwards, if PSG ask us to leave, we will leave. It’s [too] soon to speak about a return to Italy.”
The 24-year-old has spent the last five years with PSG after joining from Pescara from 2012 and has all the qualities to really thrive in Barcelona’s midfield.
In fact, only Thiago Motta (92.6) averages more passes per game in Ligue 1 this season than Verratti (82.4).
