Sevilla confirm agreement for Argentine maestro

LaLiga side Sevilla have confirmed that they have an agreement in place to sign creative star Alejandro Gomez from Serie A outfit Atalanta.

The Argentine endured a falling out with Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini and, as a result, hasn't featured since a second half sub appearance in the 1-1 draw with Juventus last month.

"Sevilla FC and Atalanta BC have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Argentine attacking midfielder Alejandro Darío Gómez Villaverde, known as Papu Gómez," a statement read on Sevilla's offcial website.

"The Argentine attacking midfielder lands in Nervión after nine seasons in Italy between Catania and Atalanta, with a year in between at Metalist in Ukraine.

"He signs a contract until 30th June 2024."

32-year-old Gomez has registered more assists (18) than any other player since the start of the 2018/19 Serie A season and he joins compatriots Lucas Ocampos, Marcos Acuna and Lucas Vazquez for the LaLiga outfit.
