Manchester United are set to announce Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has signed a new deal with the club, according to manager Louis van Gaal.
The Red Devils are looking to reward Borthwick-Jackson for his seamless transition into the first-team this season after being thrust in at the deep end following United’s severe injury crisis at left-back.
The 19-year-old’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season but Van Gaal says United are working on keeping his services long-term.
“We are dealing with that of course but you have to wait for an announcement from the club,” Van Gaal is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Borthwick-Jackson has made seven appearances in the league this season and registered one assist in United’s 3-0 win over Stoke a fortnight ago.
