Suarez opens up about Liverpool return

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed he misses the Liverpool fans and refused to rule out a return to Anfield in the future.

Suarez, 29, left Liverpool for Barcelona in a £75m deal after the World Cup in 2014 and has gone on to win five major honours.

The Uruguay international ill-discipline forced his Anfield exit but the coveted frontman insists he would only re-join Liverpool if he was to return to the Premier League in the future.

“You never know what might happen in the future, but if I were to return to England it would only be to play for Liverpool and never for another team,” Suarez told ESPN.

“I’ve missed the fans. The atmosphere is incredible. Everyone that has played for Liverpool knows how important the supporters are. They know that they’re in my heart."

Suarez is currently leading the chase for the Pichichi award in La Liga (18 goals) this season and has scored 34 league goals in 46 appearances since joining Barcelona.

In his final two campaigns at Liverpool, he scored 54 league goals in 66 appearances, which is at least 16 more goals than any other player in the Premier League during that time.
