Inter are in the closing stretch to sign sought after Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Barella, who was linked with a move to Chelsea in January, has his heart set on joining Inter this summer after turning down Roma’s advances.
Inter are busily working on landing new manager Antonio Conte’s top transfer targets and are on the brink of signing Barella.
The Serie A giants have agreed a €45m fee with Cagliari for the Italy international and are now working on the structure of their payments.
Inter want to spread the cost over a number of years and are now finalising those details before being able to get a deal over the line for the 22-year-old.
Barella made 35 league appearances for Cagliari last season and is already considered first choice for the Italian national team.
No player had a worse conversation rate in Serie A last season than Barella (1.9%).
