Sevilla have announced captain Vicente Iborra has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2020.
Iborra, 28, had been linked with a move away from Sevilla in the summer with Sunderland a reported club to hold an interest in signing the combative midfielder.
However, the Spaniard, who had less than two years remaining on his previous deal, was made Sevilla captain earlier this month by head coach Jorge Sampaoli and has agreed to extend his stay with the Europa League champions.
In the last three La Liga campaigns only two Sevilla players have received more yellow cards than Iborra (14).
