Madrid open to return of former striker

Real Madrid club director Santiago Aguado has opened the door to Javier Hernandez returning to the European champions.

Hernandez, 28, spent a season on loan with Madrid from Manchester United in the 2014/15 campaign before joining German side Bayer Leverkusen on a permanent deal last year.

The Mexico international has been in sensational form since joining Leverkusen and his form has caught the eye of his former employers, who would welcome his return to the club.

“Yes, I’d like to see Chicharito back at Real Madrid as we feel that he is an excellent player,” Aguado told Fox Sports, via AS.

Only Roberto Lewandowski (35) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (31) has scored more goals in the last two Bundesliga campaigns than Hernandez (22).
