Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian are interested in making a stunning £80m bid for Chelsea striker Diego Costa, according to The Sun.
Chelsea have reportedly already rejected a £50m offer from the Chinese-based side last month but Fabio Cannavaro’s side are now willing to return with a new offer that would make Costa would of the most expensive players of all-time.
Costa, 28, was heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea at the end of last season and has already admitted he wanted to return to Atletico Madrid but Antonio Conte had no interest in selling his star striker and that view isn’t likely to have changed following his stunning start to the season.
The Spain international has arguably been the best player in the Premier League this season and has been integral to Chelsea’s record-equalling run of 13 straight wins that has put them six points clear at the top of the table.
Chelsea have already raised a reported £60m from the sale of Oscar to China this month but aren’t expected to even consider an offer for Costa midway through the season, with his goals priceless in their quest towards the league title.
In fact, Costa has scored at least two more goals than any other player in the Premier League this season (14) - two more than he managed in the whole of last season.
