Crystal Palace are on the verge of signing Lyon centre-back Joachim Andersen, reports the London Evening Standard.
Andersen was a standout performer on loan at Fulham last season, even taking the captain's armband midway through the season, but is looking for a new club after the Cottagers were relegated.
Parent club Lyon have transfer listed the Denmark international as they desperately look to raise funds and Palace are on the brink of finalising a deal worth up to €27m (£23.1m).
Andersen has agreed personal terms on a five-year deal and even underwent his medical in Greece at the end of last week.
Tottenham were also interested in the 25-year-old but cooled their interest as talks with Atalanta for Cristian Romero ramped up.
Anderesen is poised to become Palace's third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Marc Guehi for £20m and Michael Olise for £8m.
Patrick Vieira's side desperately need to strengthen before the start of next season and releasing a lot of senior players earlier this summer.
Only Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (4) claimed more WhoScored Man of the Match awards than Andersen for Fulham (2) last season.
