Bournemouth close in on permanent signing of former loanee
Bournemouth are closing in on the £20m capture of Dutch defender Nathan Ake from Chelsea, reports the Sun.
Ake spent the first half of the season on loan with the Cherries before the Blues cut his loan move short at the turn of the year.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe had strived to bring him back to the Vitality Stadium during the January transfer window, but Chelsea manager Antonio Conte vetoed his exit.
The Cherries now look set to sign the 22-year-old permanently having missed out on the signing of John Terry, who is set to sign for Aston Villa.
Ake is expected to sign a deal with Bournemouth when he returns from holiday next month, despite interest from a number of sides.
The versatile defender does not feature in Conte’s plans for the coming campaign and the Italian is prepared to sanction his sale to raise funds to sign Virgil van Dijk and Leonardo Bonucci, of Southampton and Juventus respectively.
