Arsenal are readying a new deal for right-back Hector Bellerin to ward off interest from Barcelona this summer, according to The Daily Mirror.
Bellerin, 21, has been identified by Barcelona as a potential replacement for Dani Alves, who is joining Juventus this summer.
The Spain international left Barcelona for Arsenal when he was 16 and has developed into Arsenal’s first choice right-back in the last two seasons.
The 21-year-old, who was selected in Spain’s squad for Euro 2016, has previously insisted he has no desire to leave Arsenal for a return to the La Liga champions and is set to be rewarded with a new long-term deal.
Of right backs that made at least 15 appearances in the position in the Premier League last season, only Cedric Soares (7.35) earned a higher WhoScored.com rating than Bellerin (7.20).
