Chelsea want £20m for forgotten midfielder

Tiemoue Bakayoko is available for transfer for just £20m this summer as Chelsea desperately look to offload the midfielder, claims The Sun.

The former France international has endured a nightmare spell at Chelsea since the Premier League side shelled out £40m to sign him from Monaco three years ago.

Bakayoko's struggles at Chelsea have been accredited to knee surgery just before he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old endured a nightmare first season at the club and has since been loaned out to AC Milan and former club Monaco.

Bakayoko has impressed in patches for both sides but is no where near the level that earned him a blockbuster move to Chelsea.

Chelsea were hoping to recoup their full investment but accept that is now impossible as a result of COVID-19.

Frank Lampard wants to offload Bakayoko permanently this summer to top up his transfer kitty and Chelsea have now halved their valuation in order to whip up some interest.

Bakayoko started 20 league matches of a possible 28 for Monaco last season before the Ligue 1 campaign was curtailed.

Only Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar (4.1) was fouled more times per game than Bakayoko (2.9) in Ligue 1 last season.
