Tottenham poised to sign rising Spanish talent in swap deal

Tottenham have agreed a deal in principle to sign Sevilla starlet Bryan Gil with Erik Lamela moving in the opposite direction, claims Fabrizio Romano.

New Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici has stepped up Tottenham's transfer business this week with Atalanta's Pierluigi Gollini set to sign and talks also taking place to land his team-mate Cristian Romero.

The Premier League outfit are also looking to beef up their attacking options for the upcoming campaign and are on the brink of securing a deal for one of La Liga's most exciting prospects.

In addition to sending Lamela to Sevilla as part of the transfer, Tottenham have also agreed to pay €25m plus add-ons for Gil.

Lamela has spent the last eight years at Tottenham after being signed as one of seven players with the money raised from Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid.

The Argentina international never fulfilled expectations at Tottenham but did score two of the best goals their supporters have ever seen with a rabona in the Europa League and North London Derby against Arsenal.

Only Jeremy Doku (110) and Jadon Sancho (77) completed more dribbles than Gil (67) of players currently aged 21 and under in Europe's top 5 leagues last season.
