Manchester United boss desperately wants Champions League top scorer
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to secure a reunion with Salzburg wonderkid Erling Braut Haaland before the start of next season, claims The Daily Mail.
Haaland has quickly emerged as one of the most sought-after young prospects in Europe this season after his dazzling goalscoring displays in the Champions League.
The 19-year-old has remarkably scored seven goals in four appearances in the Champions League this season, more than any other player in the competition.
Solskjaer handed Haaland his first-team debut at Molde in 2017 and now wants to bring the Norway international to Old Trafford in one of the next two transfer windows.
Aware of lingering interest from a number of Europe's biggest clubs, Salzburg have already slapped a £75m asking price on the teenager's head.
Despite Salzburg's high demands, United are prepared to back Solskjaer and there have even been reports suggesting the Red Devils will work on a deal in January.
United could even loan Haaland back to Salzburg for the remainder of the season, as an incentive to get a deal over the line in the new year ahead of their European rivals.
