Real Madrid sound out Premier League striker

Real Madrid have made an initial enquiry for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, claims France Football.

Arsenal are desperate to keep hold of club captain Aubameyang but are bracing themselves for offers in the summer.

Aubameyang will only have 12 months left to run on his current contract this summer and is currently reluctant to entertain talks about a new deal.

The Gunners look a long way off even being able to finish in the top four and Aubameyang is desperate to be back in the Champions League and challenging for major honours.

Aubameyang has been linked with a move to Manchester United as a result but now the 30-year-old is reportedly on Madrid's radar.

The Gabon international was regularly linked with a move to Madrid during his time at Borussia Dortmund but nothing materialised.

Given Aubameyang's desire to join one of the biggest clubs in Europe, he would likely jump at the chance to join Madrid.

Aubameyang has been a goalscoring machine since joining Arsenal from Dortmund in January 2018 for £56M.

In fact, only Mohamed Salah (51) has scored more goals than Aubameyang (49) in the Premier League in that time.
