Napoli ponder shock move for Chelsea legend

Napoli are considering a shock move to sign former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba in January to bolster their offensive options following injury to Arkadiusz Milik, reports Calciomercato, via Football Italia.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have been left short of options in attack after summer signing Milik was ruled out for six months with a knee injury during the international break and the Serie A side are now looking to sign a new striker in January.

Reports have emerged linking Napoli to Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic and West Ham club record signing Simone Zaza, but Sarri’s side are now reportedly considering Montreal Impact striker Drogba.

MLS will be on its winter break during those months, which would free the 38-year-old up for several months before he has to return to the Impact.

Of players to have started at least 15 MLS matches in the last two campaigns only two players have required fewer minutes per goal than Drogba (1 every 120 mins).
