Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid ponder incredible swap deal

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid could be about to entertain one of the most incredible swap deals in football history with Karim Benzema returning to France in exchange for Edinson Cavani, reports Bernabeu Digital.

Benzema, 29, has spent the last eight years with Madrid after joining from Lyon in 2009 but his time with the reigning European giants is widely expected to come to an end sooner rather than later as Zinedine Zidane’s side look to freshen up their offensive options.

The France international’s struggles to stay fit, coupled with some moments of tension down the years have seen Madrid linked with a number of the top strikers in Europe, including Borussia Dortmund ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, a sensational deal could potentially be struck between PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi and Madrid chief Florentino Perez, who have a good relationship where Cavani would join Madrid and Benzema would return to his homeland.

Cavani has currently enjoying one of the best seasons in his career after finally being given the central role at PSG that he has been after since joining from Napoli in 2013. In fact, the Uruguay international has scored more goals than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season (25).
