Fleetwood Town will earn a 25 per cent sell-on fee should Leicester decide to part ways with star striker Jamie Vardy, according to the Daily Mail.
Vardy, 28, has been in sensational form since the start of the season and his performances have courted interest from a number of the Premier League’s leading clubs.
The England international set a Premier League record when he scored in his 11th consecutive match against Manchester United on Saturday.
Leicester paid a record £1m fee to sign Vardy from Fleetwood, who were then a non-league team, in 2012 and the Cod Army could be set for a big pay day after including a 25 per cent sell-on fee in the deal that saw Vardy move to the King Power Stadium.
Vardy is currently the top goalscorer in the Premier League having scored 14 goals in as many matches. In fact, only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (17) has scored more league goals than Vardy across Europe’s top five leagues so far this season.
