Barcelona are on the verge of signing Kevin-Prince Boateng from Sassuolo in a shock deal, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Ernesto Valverde’s side are on the market for a new striker after selling Munir to Sevilla earlier this month.
The reigning Spanish champions want cover for Luis Suarez and have already been linked with a number of strikers across Europe.
However, it has now emerged Barcelona have agreed a deal with Sassuolo to loan Boateng for the remainder of the season.
Barcelona will have the option to make Boateng’s switch permanent in the summer in a deal worth €8m (£7m).
The 31-year-old only join Sassuolo in the summer and has scored four goals in 13 league appearances for the Serie A side.
Boateng scored 10 goals in 28 league appearances during a sole La Liga campaign with Las Palmas as recently as 2016/17.
