Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is a huge doubt for their Champions League encounter with Tottenham next week after sustaining a hamstring injury on international duty.
Navas picked up the injury during Costa Rica’s 1-1 draw with Honduras on Saturday before being released from the squad prior to their 2-1 defeat to Panama on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old will now almost certainly miss Madrid’s league encounter with Getafe this weekend and is also a huge doubt for their Champions League match at home to Tottenham on Tuesday.
“After the game against Honduras, Keylor felt an issue in his right leg,” Costa Rica doctor Alejandro Ramirez told the federation’s official website.
“A series of tests were carried out which showed he had a soft tissue strain in his right hamstring muscle.”
Kiko Casilla is poised to deputise in Navas' absence and the 31-year-old has only managed to keep eight clean sheets in 26 competitive appearances for Madrid.
In the last three La Liga campaigns, only Diego Alves (6) has saved more penalties than Navas (4).
