Leicester eye £15m bid for Championship ace

Leicester and Newcastle are prepared to lock horns for £15m-rated Brentford winger Said Benrahma at the end of the season, claims The Sun.

Benrahma has spent the last two-and-a-half years at Brentford after the Bees signed him from Nice in the summer of 2018.

The Algeria international has been a fine addition to Brentford and further illustrates how good the club's recruitment system is.

Benrahma's performances this season have finally caught the attention of some Premier League sides, with Leicester and Newcastle particularly keen.

Brentford could be powerless to keeping the 24-year-old if they fail to gain promotion from the Championship this season.

Thomas Frank's side are currently well-placed to mount a promotion push, just six points off top spot.

Benrahma has been key to Brentford's success this season and at the weekend netted his second career hat-trick.

The Brentford winger has played a direct hand in 12 goals in 27 league appearances this season (eight goals, five assists).

Moreover, only two players have gained a higher WhoScored rating in the division than Benrahma (7.40) and no player averages more dribbles per game (3.2).
