West Ham line up £25m bid for Arsenal forward

West Ham United are weighing up a £25m move for Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, according to the London Evening Standard.

The Hammers have identified signing a world-class striker as their main priority in the transfer window this summer and are hopeful of landing Walcott amid reports suggesting Leicester striker Jamie Vardy is on the verge of joining Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger’s side will reportedly allow Walcott to leave the Emirates if Vardy makes the £20m move with West Ham at the front of the queue to land the England international.

Walcott only started 15 league games for Arsenal last season and his lack of playing time and form ended with the forward being culled by Roy Hodgson in his England squad for the Euros. The 27-year-old has only managed five league goals in each of his last three Premier league campaigns.
