Paris Saint-Germain no closer to resolving Rabiot future
Paris Saint-Germain have made little progress in their attempts to secure Adrien Rabiot’s long-term future, reports ESPN.
Rabiot has entered the final 12 months of his existing PSG deal and will be free to strike a pre-contract agreement with another club in January.
The France international was heavily linked with a summer move to Barcelona but Thomas Tuchel’s side blocked his exit and want him to sign a new long-term deal.
Rabiot, however, continues to delay a decision on his future and PSG still do not know whether the 23-year-old will agree terms with the club.
Liverpool emerged as suitors for the central midfielder earlier this month but those reports are understood to be wide of the mark, although Juventus and Chelsea are monitoring his future.
A frosty relationship with PSG sporting director Antero Henrique, whose position at the club is already under pressure, is reportedly the cause behind Rabiot questioning his future.
Rabiot has started PSG’s first four league games this season and garnered an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.54 in that time.
Of Ligue 1 players to make at least three appearances thus far, only teammates Thiago Silva (85.3) and Marquinhos (79) average more passes per game than Rabiot (77.3).
