West Brom have announced the loan signing of Grzegorz Krychowiak from PSG.
The Poland international had been expected to leave the French giants this summer and despite interest across the continent, the Baggies won the race to sign the tough-tackling 27-year-old.
“Albion completed two signings in 24 hours after agreeing a deal with Paris Saint Germain to bring Grzegorz Krychowiak to The Hawthorns on a season-long loan - subject to international clearance,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“Following Kieran Gibbs' signing on a four-year deal with the Baggies earlier today, the much sought-after Polish international touched down in the West Midlands to complete his transfer from the French giants for the remainder of the Premier League season.
“The 27-year-old joins Gibbs, Oliver Burke, Gareth Barry, Ahmed Hegazi and Jay Rodriguez as new additions for this season's challenge, with Albion also signing China international striker Yuning Zhang who has started a two-year loan to Werder Bremen.
“Grzegorz comes to the Baggies with a wealth of experience, boasting two Europa League winners' medals from his time at Sevilla and 45 caps for his country. At PSG last season he contributed to a triple success for Unai Emery's side, winning the Trophee des Champions, Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France.
“Like Burke, the midfielder has therefore abandoned the opportunity of playing Champions League football to join the Baggies. And Grzegorz believes he has come to the right place.”
On his move to the Hawthorns, Krychowiak said: "I had a lot of propositions from Spain and Italy. But this is a very ambitious club. There's a good atmosphere here.”
